Awards and Accomplishments at Purdue: The fact that I
survived my 1st
year is enough
How long have you
been a member of the BGA? 2 Years
What three words
(or phrases) would you use to describe the BGA? Electric, Kinship,
Advantageous.
What is your
lifelong dream? To play centerfield for the New York Yankees and to
be in Steven Spielberg’s shoes.
Who were the
most influential people in your life? Mother, Grad. Advisor,
Internship mentor (who broke the ‘business’ to me down to the
bone)
How would you
describe yourself in 3 words? TALK is CHEAP
Where do you see
yourself in 10 years? In a tenured position, doing some really cool
research, completing at least a second book, and taking my child to
their very first baseball game…Oh and extending the
same ‘stuff’ to graduate students that my progenitors have so
courteously done to me.
What is one
thing in life you must have? My health, without that what else is
there.
Why did you
decide to come to Purdue and what do you like most about the
University thus far?
Purdue has one of
the top American Studies programs in the Country and it just moved up
a notch thanks to my presence.
Any other
comments, words of wisdom, or shout outs you would like to make?
I would like to
thank my mother for her support; my old friends and new ones, my
advisor Dr. Curtis, and all the haters for providing inspiration when
I needed it the most! To all first year Ph.D.’s: The first year
WILL be tough but hang in there – it was designed that way – let
BGA be your support.
A goal without a
plan is just a wish. Creativity is a drug I cannot live without.
